Have you ever considered offering a Staffordshire Bull terrier a forever home. The answer maybe "no" it maybe "yes" but before you decide please see our
and reasons you may be surprised by for considering a Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Welcome to our website and we hope you find the perfect companion for youself. Before you start your search please do take a minute to read about our appeal to find loving new homes for some of our overlooked residents. At Animal Helpline we try to help any breed who needs our help space permitting, for this reason a majority of the dogs we do take into our care are the ones who may wait longer for a new home.
A large percentage of people looking to help a rescue dog will want a Spaniel a Labrador a small dog or a Collie type. The plain crossbreed the Staffordshire Bull terrier the large dog will all be bottom of most peoples list or not even make that list.
This appeal is a push for that dog, the one people will pass and not even give a second glance to, the one who if you saw a picture of you would quickly pass over, the one who may not have the looks but the nature that would just be perfect for you.
Would you take A PEEK at some of these dogs waiting patiently

Simon has been in our care for some time now. He would dearly love a quiet home with no children. Can you offer our big lovable boy a forever home.
Simon is a male Mastiff and is looking for a large breed experienced home, poor Simon didn`t have the best start in life but now is understanding that this world can be a beautiful place. A Home without children.
Simon recently had a sleepover with one of our fantastic volunteers and proved to be a real gent who is willing to learn and got plenty of love to give:
"I was able to take Simon, one of our long termers home for a couple of nights last week. Simon is a Mastiff who has not seen much of the world and is quite nervous and easily startled as a result, but having walked him and his kennel mate regularly over the past year I’ve seen his confidence build, and he really enjoys his walks with us so I thought it would be nice to see how he got on in a home environment.
The whole experience was new for him from getting in the car (a follow-me tactic using sausage bribery worked well!) to seeing a television but he was a delight to have. Not knowing how he would get on overnight he spent the first night in his bed in the hallway and once I had him settled he was a perfect guest. I don’t think he’s actually been toilet-trained but is obviously a naturally clean dog, and given regular opportunities to go outside he showed no inclination to make any sort of mess in the house and couldn’t have been better in this respect.
We quickly established a couple of safe spots on the old sofa and his bed so he had somewhere to retreat to if things got a bit daunting, but as his confidence grew I quickly developed a 4 legged shadow who was keen to follow me round. A long walk around Ferry Meadows saw him behave nicely around strangers and accept a pat on the head after a little reassurance. With space he generally ignored other dogs if they ignored him but does sometimes “stalk” and then pull after other dogs in a more confined environment such as a narrow track. I saw absolutely no sign of aggression but given his size and strength it’s a good idea to be a little cautious around other dogs for the time being.
Passing traffic was no problem and he quickly got the hang of getting in the car and being happy to lie down on the back seat without any fuss. Back home, he soon showed he has a healthy appetite and we spent some quality time together with no sign of any food or bed possessiveness whatsoever. On the second night I brought his bed into the bedroom and he was happy to curl up for the night - again, absolutely no problems although he does snore a little! Although he is still nervous around things he’s not seen before in only 2 days I saw a real difference in his confidence; however, what was really nice was his underlying temperament. Simon really is a lovable big softy who just wants cuddles and a comfy warm sofa in a quite house. He’s used to being with a female kennel mate so I also wonder if a home with an older large breed bitch might be a good option for him where he can learn and build his confidence with another dog. Simon has been with us for too long and its time that this loveable hound found his forever home.”
Please consider our Gina, she maybe a older girl and she maybe a
Stffie one of the most unwanted breeds in the UK but she has so
much to offer and would so dearly love a home to call her own as a only pet.
Poor Gina has not had the best life upto coming into our care. We have now
got her to smile again but what she really needs is a special person to love
her and give her all the cuddles she so deserves. Gina loves a cuddle and
loves being with people.
