HAZEL FEMALE CROSSBREED.
Hazel is a crossbreed female who's only a youngster so will need a home with someone around most of the time and a home where family will be prepared to invest time in her training and socialisation. Hazel is a beautiful girl who is full of beans and is very energetic. She is sweet natured girl who loves to give you cuddles, but more than anything, she loves a good walk to stretch her legs. Hazel would love to have a family where she will be guided into an adulthood and involved into all the family fun and adventures. Hazel would prefer an adult only home or a home where there are no small children. Also, she can`t live with cats as finds them quite tempting to chase. Hazel is very loving pooch who surely will capture many hearts!
This sweet girl loves people and would love to be part of a home.
* Hazel recently had a trip out with one of our great volunteers. Here is what he had to say about Hazel.
“Hazel is very much a loveable live-wire pupster so we thought it would be good to take her out for a day with Isaac the Rottie to keep us company and give her a chance to learn from a slightly older and more sensible dog. I’ve walked Hazel a few times so I know she is very energetic and she didn’t disappoint. She is at the stage where everything is interesting and a potential toy and/or playmate, all very good natured but it does mean whoever is walking her gets as much exercise as she does. She is friendly with other dogs but wants to play with them and although Isaac was brilliant with her, some dogs might not be so patient so something to be aware of. She enjoys playing with most things including balls and perhaps favourite a rope tug toy, but doesn’t yet understand what is a toy and what isn’t, so we do now need a new portable water bowl! She can also mouth when she gets excited, so the common theme with her is the need to be taught the boundaries of acceptable behaviour. It’s a common theme for youngsters coming in to the Rescue who have not been trained but she is so quick and intelligent I’m sure she will respond well to the right guidance.
Off to the pub for lunch and more fun and games but again all light-hearted and she was surprisingly well behaved while we ate. Its also clear she enjoys being part of a “pack” as even after a few hours, when any of us went to the bar or away from the table she was looking for us and really pleased to see us when we came back. Back home and off the leash she had a great time tearing around the garden and playing with all 3 of us. She also made us laugh when she saw Isaac paddling in the stream and jumped in to join him, only she landed in a spot much deeper than she thought and came back out like a rocket after an unexpected bath.
Hazel needs a home where she will be trained and learn doggie discipline, but I think the results will be incredibly rewarding. Somebody else suggested she would be a great dog for Agility and I couldn’t agree more. Something like that would give her the focus for all that boundless energy (nope, we didn’t manage to tire her out). We had a great time with her, she’s a bundle of fun who loves fuss and attention and she will be a brilliant companion in the right home.”
